The Golden West College men’s water polo team is a certified dynasty after winning its six-consecutive California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships after defeating the West Valley College Vikings, 9-7, in double overtime.
The semifinal rounds have concluded as a rematch of the Southern Regional Championship featuring the Orange Coast College Pirates and the Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros will face off on the women’s side, while the two top seeds on the men’s side in the Golden West College Rustlers and the West Valley College Vikings are set to square off for the state championship title.
Some newcomers mixed with the usual powerhouse programs will hit the ultimate stage on Friday morning as the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Men’s and Women’s Water Polo State Championship tournament is set for action.
The Golden West College Rustlers will represent the top seed for the men, while the Orange Coast College Pirates will act as the top seed for the women for the CCCAA State Championships starting this weekend.
The West Valley College Vikings claim a dual regional championship and will represent the top seed on both sides for the upcoming CCCAA State Championships this weekend. Sierra claims the second seed on the men’s side, while San Joaquin Delta will represent the second seed on the women’s side.
The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Northern Regional Championships is set to kick off on Friday morning at San Joaquin Delta College with six men’s teams and eight women’s teams hoping to advance to championship Saturday and the CCCAA State Championship tournament.
