Riverside's Grandi & DVC's McGrath Named CCCWPCA Week Seven Players of the Week

Grandi had an incredible week that led the Tigers to three crucial wins; two coming in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play. The sophomore captain netted 21 goals accompanied by 14 assists, eight steals, four drawn ejections and two blocked shots. He scored two or more goals in all six games, which included three games with five or more goals. He hummed home six goals in a win over Sierra and a pair of five goal games against Fullerton and No. 8 Saddleback. Furthermore, he assisted on six scores in the victory over Sierra, which acts as his season high mark. Grandi currently ranks second in the state with 90 goals and sixth in the state with 60 steals.

Diablo Valley Vikings
McGrath had a strong week as she led the state with 22 goals leading the Vikings to four wins. She scored a week-high seven goals in a close loss to Cypress after netting six goals in a victory over Modesto. She added 10 assists, 12 steals and two blocks. She recorded six steals in a dominant win over Rio Hondo. Currently, she ranked fourth in the state with 75 goals.
