SAN MATEO -- Austin Lonestar banged out four of College of San Mateo's 15 hits and scored the go-ahead run in a 9-2 victory over visiting Mission College Thursday, securing sole possession of first place in the Coast Golden Gate Conference baseball standings.

LONESTAR'S 4 HITS PROPELS 1ST PLACE CSM TO DECISIVE 9-2 BASEBALL VICTORY OVER MISSION
SAN MATEO -- Austin Lonestar banged out four of College of San Mateo's 15 hits and scored the go-ahead run in a 9-2 victory over visiting Mission College Thursday, securing sole possession of first place in the Coast Golden Gate Conference baseball standings.
Jonny Palsha pitched six innings of relief, giving up one unearned run, for his third victory against one defeat. He had five strikeouts as the league leading Bulldogs (21-9 overall) increased their Golden Gate record to 13-4, a full game ahead of De Anza (12-5) -- which lost to Chabot, 15-4 -- and two ahead of third place Mission (11-6).
CSM bounced back from an early 1-0 deficit and a then a 2-2 tie to go ahead in the sixth inning, 3-2,when Bear Smith singled home Lonestar. Lonestar had RBI hits in the next two innings (including a double) as the Bulldogs took full control.
Dylan Isquirdo went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and scored twice. Draco Roberts had three hits.
Devin Mahoney had two RBIs without a hit -- getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home Isquirdo in the third and then reaching on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded in the seventh to bring in Miles Mastrobuoni from third.
CSM has the best conference record among all 13 Coast Conference teams. Ohlone leads the Coast Pacific at 11-7, a game ahead of Skyline and Gavilan at 10-8.
