West Valley returns to the top in week 11
LOS ANGELES, Calif – West Valley returns to the top of the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association State Rankings in week 11.
The Vikings lept No. 2 Palomar, receiving unanimous first-place voting in the north earning their state-best 32nd win on Tuesday, April 8. The Vikings rank second in the state in RPI, only behind No. 4 Orange Coast. The Pirates shutout Palomar in a commanding 7-0 win over the Comets April 2.
All 20 teams from week 10’s top 20 remain in the mix with a little over two weeks to go in the regular season. Citrus, who debuted at No. 20 last week, leap to No. 17 with a Western-State South leading eight wins. Their lone loss in conference play was at the hands of No. 13 Antelope Valley. The pair faces each other one last time on April 17. The game could likely decide the regular-season champion.
No. 6 Yuba reaches its highest mark in the rankings after soaring to a state-best 12-game winning streak. The Niners were led by 3CFCA Player of the Week Aaliyah Tinoco who mashed three homers and 10 RBI in four wins last week.
