Mt. SAC new No. 1, El Camino, Canyons, Ventura, and Folsom Lake join 3CFCA rankings
AZUSA, CA — Mt. San Antonio College is the new No. 1 ranked team in the latest California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) after the first week of action. Week one of the softball season featured a top-two matchup between former No. 1 San Mateo and Mt. SAC with the Mounties claiming a 6-4 win.
No. 7 Monterey Peninsula jumped up nine spots in the rankings after starting the season 4-0. Sacramento City also vaulted up the rankings moving from 18 to 10 after a 3-0-1 start led by 3CFCA Player of the Week Eliza Deatherage. Despite starting 1-3, Bakersfield moved up to No. 9 after scoring an 8-7 win over Mt. SAC.
El Camino made the biggest leap going from unranked to No. 13 with a 3-0 start to the year. No. 15 Canyons, No. 17 Ventura, and No. 18 Folsom Lake all make their debut in the rankings.
