West Valley surges to No. 4 in latest 3CFCA rankings
The Vikings posted wins over San Mateo and Monterey Peninsula.,
LOS ANGELES — West Valley makes enters the top-5 of the latest California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) Top-20 after a pair of big wins.
The Vikings move up to No. 4 after defeating the previous No. 2 Monterey Peninsula 1-0 in a defensive battle. West Valley was led by reigning 3CFCA Pitcher of the Week Shelby White who pitched a gem, striking out five batters while allowing just four hits and one walk in the complete game win. The Vikings also scored an impressive 7-0 win over No. 6 San Mateo led again by White in the circle and three RBIs from Kassady Alcazar. West Valley added wins over RV San Jose and Hartnell.
No. 14 Santiago Canyon also rejoined the rankings after notching a pair of wins over No. 15 Bakersfield, a nine-inning win over No. 8 Fullerton, and a six-inning win over Santa Ana. El Camino rejoins the rankings at No. 18 after an 8-6 win over No. 11 Ventura, and San Joaquin Delta after posting three wins including a 9-0 victory against No. 9 Butte.
