Shasta College softball sweeps Feather River to finish perfect in GVC play
Knights set school record with 40th straight GVC win

Shasta College's softball team swept Feather River Friday 6-4 and 6-1 to finish with a school-record 40 straight Golden Valley Conference wins across two years.
In the first game, Megan McColpin got the win, picking up four strikeouts and allowing nine hits. Ally Wimer was 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs, McColpin was 1 for 2 with two RBIs and two stolen bases and Jaime Weatherbee was 1 for 2 with a run and two stolen bases.
In the second game, McColpin got the win while allowing three hits and four strikeouts. She also went 1 for 3 with a double and a run at the plate.
Wimer went 3 for 3 with two doubles and scored three runs, Lea Holland was 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs, Megan McCadden was 1 for 3 with an RBI.
The Knights finished 20-0 in GVC play for the second straight year and McColpin turned in an unblemished 30-0 record in the GVC.
Shasta finished the regular season 28-7 after starting 2-5 and has to wait to see if it will host a California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) NorCal playoff game. The seeding meeting is next weekend.
