Men's Volleyball Postseason Field Set
April 12, 2026
With the regular season complete, the 2026 postseason field is set, as eight teams across the Northern and Southern Divisions turn their focus toward a state championship run, announced Sunday. Conference champions Santa Barbara City College and Orange Coast College headline the brackets, while a deep and competitive field features multiple teams with head-to-head splits and a history of five-set battles this season. The matches are scheduled to be played on Friday, Apr. 17.
Northern Division
The top-seeded Santa Barbara City College (18-4, 12-2) enters the postseason as the 2026 Northern Division champion. SBCC earned key series victories over both Long Beach and Santa Monica and will host No. 4 seed San Diego Mesa in the opening round. When the two teams met earlier this season in early February, SBCC came away with a sweep.
No. 2 seed Long Beach City College (16-8, 10-4) has been battle-tested throughout the season, playing multiple five-set matches against top competition. The Vikings split their season series in five sets with both Santa Monica and Fullerton, pushed Santa Barbara to five sets in both meetings, and defeated Miramar in five (15-10 in the fifth).
Earning the No. 3 seed is Santa Monica College (16-8, 10-4), which also split a pair of five-set matches with Long Beach. The Corsairs picked up a sweep of Fullerton at home but fell in five on the road. They opened the season by pushing Orange Coast to four sets and later dropped matches to Santa Barbara in both four and five sets.
No. 4 seed Fullerton College (14-8, 10-4) makes its first playoff appearance since 2018. After an inconsistent start, the Hornets found their rhythm, earning splits with Santa Barbara, Moorpark, Santa Monica, and Long Beach. In their most recent meeting with Orange Coast, Fullerton fell in four sets.
Southern Division
Top-seeded Orange Coast College (23-1, 13-1) enters the postseason looking to rebound after a loss to Golden West in its regular season finale. After finishing third a year ago, OCC has its sights set on capturing the program's 11th state championship.
The No. 2 seed and defending state champion, Golden West College (21-3, 11-3), heads into the playoffs with momentum following a four-set win over Orange Coast. Golden West will host Santa Monica in the opening round and has had success against the Corsairs this season, sweeping both prior meetings.
No. 3 seed Miramar College (13-9, 9-5) returns to the postseason for the first time since 2023 and marks the first playoff appearance under head coach Gino Gamboa. Miramar owns a recent win over Golden West and split its season series with San Diego Mesa in two five-set matches. The Jets also pushed Long Beach to five sets in their most recent meeting.
Rounding out the field is No. 4 seed San Diego Mesa College (13-9, 9-5), which enters the postseason on a six-match winning streak. Mesa's late-season surge includes a four-set victory over Golden West, and like Miramar, the Olympians played two tightly contested five-set matches in their season series.
