WOMEN
Hannah Taylor, Feather River College, volleyball, sophomore, opposite hitter
An All-State right side hitter in the regular season, Taylor had one of the most accurate attack performances in women's volleyball state tournament history during her three match victories that led Feather River to the CCCAA state championship. She scored 16 kills and hit .379 in the team's quarterfinals sweep over Grossmont. In the semifinals v. San Mateo, Hannah was dominating by totaling 20 individual points, pounding 17 kills in just 27 attempts to hit .593 plus adding five blocks for points. Finally in the state title match, her swing was strong again with a team-high 16 kills (.310) as FRC swept American River for the school's second state title in four years. At state, she hit .424 overall, averaged 5.44 kills and 1 block per set.
MEN
Co-AOTMs: Ezra Moleni, College of San Mateo, football, sophomore, running back
and Odin Rosten, Oxnard College, soccer, sophomore, forward
Moleni started December by rushing for 111 yards and two touchdowns to help San Mateo win the NorCal championship over American River. He then put on a performance for the ages in the CCCAA state championship game, a shocking 55-0 win over South power Riverside. Moleni, the game's MVP, set a Bulldogs' single-game rushing record with 232 yards (164 by halftime) in just 16 carries. He gave CSM an early lead on TD jaunts of 33 and 61 yards. Moleni totaled 1,400 yards for the season, breaking Super Bowl MVP and former NFL standout Julian Edelman's school record.
Rosten also excelled on the biggest stage as he made two dazzling plays resulting in both of Oxnard's goals, the game-winner in the 87th minute to upset Mt. San Antonio for the CCCAA State men's soccer title. Rosten's title game performance was the sixth time he tallied the team's game-winning score in an incredible season by the Condors, who finished 22-1-1. On the state title winning goal, he dribbled through two Mt. SAC defenders and fired a 10-yard, corner rocket just inside the right post. Odin was named state MVP.
