COD Volleyball Rolls on the Road in First-Ever Game at L.A. Harbor

COD (3-5) picked up its second sweep of the season in dramatic fashion Friday, playing at Wilmington for the first time in program history and knocking off the L.A. Harbor Seahawks (1-2), 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-13).

The Roadrunners first faced the Los Angeles Harbor Seahawks in 2025 and now hold a 2-0 all-time record against them. Friday's match was the first time COD has ever played at L.A. Harbor, and the Roadrunners have swept both meetings between the two programs — last year's contest, played August 29, ended in a 3-0 sweep (25-7, 25-13, 25-13) as well.

Sophomore right side Faiyth Robinson (Bermuda Dunes Desert Christian Academy) led the team with a season-high 18 digs, adding 11 kills and 2 service aces.

Sophomore setter Juliette Rothe (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) led the team with 29 assists and a season-high 6 service aces, while also grabbing 16 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Amber Kardol (Palm Desert High School) tied a career high, leading the team with 17 kills, plus 8 digs and a block assist.

Sophomore libero Meriah Escobedo (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) added 12 digs.

Freshman right side Shayna Manning (Palm Springs High School) posted season highs with 5 digs and 2 service aces.

Freshman outside hitter Bella Lucero (Indio High School) had a season-high 5 digs along with a block assist.

The Roadrunners return home Wednesday, September 9, to host the College of the Canyons Cougars in non-conference action at 5 p.m.

COD and Canyons first met in 1976, with the Cougars holding a 4-1 edge in the all-time series. The Roadrunners are 0-1 against Canyons in Palm Desert, though COD earned its first-ever win over the Cougars on September 10, 2025, in Santa Clarita.
