Quartet honored by 5CTCA as Runners of the Week
NORCAL RUNNERS OF THE WEEK
Julian Vargas - Hartnell College (So.) delivered another strong performance for the Panthers, placing 4th overall and finishing as the 3rd Northern California male with a time of 20:47 on the challenging 4-mile course. Vargas ran confidently among some of the state’s top community college competitors, reinforcing his standing as one of Northern California’s top cross-country athletes.
Gabriela Cardenas - Hartnell College (Fr.) impressed at the Pink in the Park Invitational, claiming 5th overall and ranking as the 3rd Northern California female with a time of 18:58 on the 3-mile course. Cardenas stayed with the lead pack throughout the race, showcasing her ability to match the pace of some of the state’s best women’s runners.
SOCAL RUNNERS OF THE WEEK
Victoria Jamison - College of the Canyons (So.) – College of the Canyons / 1st Place Bakersfield College Invitational 19:01. This is the second consecutive victory for the Canyons sophomore. She was also the top finisher at the Tri-State Challenge in Las Vegas last week. Jamison was an All-American runner as a freshman finishing eighth at last fall's 3C2A State Championship.
Weston Greenelsh - Cuesta (So.) – Cuesta College / 1st Place Hartnell College Pink in the Park Invite 20:21 over State Preview top runner Luciano Roberts of San Diego Mesa and last year's Toro Park Invitational winner Stephan Chapdelaine of Butte College. His mark goes to fourth fastest all-time in Toro Park history. Greenelsh is the defending 3C2A State Champion and was also the spring 2025 5000m state champion. Greenelsh also won the WSC Meet in Ventura in recent weeks.
