Vikings back on top in week 12
LOS ANGELES, Calif – West Valley retains the top-spot in week 12 of the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association state rankings.
With just a week to go in the regular season, the Vikings hold the state’s top record at 34-2. Just behind them is No. 3 San Mateo who sits a game back in the Coast Conference – that duo has held the top spots in the north dating back to February 11.
No. 5 El Camino makes a jump for the second straight week. The Warriors have won six in a row, two of those wins over ranked opponents. They sit one game behind No. 7 Long Beach with the teams meeting one more time on April 22. El Camino won the first meeting, 3-0.
All 20 from week 11’s rankings remained in the top-20. Most movement came at the bottom, as Saddleback lept to No. 15 after a series win over Golden West last week. The Bobcats sit at fourth in the south’s RPI standings.
