Week #6 Players and Pitchers of the Week Announced
The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it's Week #6 Northern and Southern California Players. Pasadena City College's Allison Lacey was named the Southern California Player of the Week for Week #6, while West Valley College's Lindsey Rafter was named the Northern California Player of the Week. There were no pitchers of the week nominations for either region.
Northern California Player of the Week – Lindsey Rafter – West Valley College
In two games during Week #6 action Rafter was 4 for 4 with a double, two home runs and five RBI's. She slugged a whopping 2.750 for the week, as she was 2 for 2 with a pair of homers with four RBI's against Hartnell College, before going 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI against Monterrey Peninsula College. At the time of her nomination Rafter was on a 10 game hitting streak, batting .464, with five home runs, and 14 RBI's during the span. Rafter is a freshman first baseman for the Vikings, from San Jose, CA where she attended Santa Teresa High School.
Southern California Player of the Week – Allison Lacey – Pasadena City College
In six games last week, sophomore catcher Allison Lacey batted 12-for-20 (.600) with a double, a triple, 6 runs, 2 SB, and impressive 11 RBI. She helped the Lancers to four wins, including the consolation title at the Golden West Tournament where she drove in 10 runs in four games and hit .750 (9-for-12). Lacey is from Crescenta Valley High and La Crescenta, CA.
