Fullerton, Oxnard continue to headline CCCSIA men's soccer poll
SAN BERNARDINO - A week ago, 11 points separated Oxnard and Fullerton colleges in the top two spots of the weekly California Community College Sports Information Association men’s soccer poll.
This week, it’s five points. And this time it’s the Hornets who are on top.
Fullerton (7-1-0) leapfrogged Oxnard (5-0-1) in this week’s poll, as the two teams split the eight first-place votes.
El Camino (7-1-0) remained No. 3, as much of the field shuffled below the top three spots.
Evergreen Valley moved up one spot, from a tie for fifth to No. 4, while the No. 5 spot remained a tie, with Fresno City and Santa Rosa finishing deadlocked in the voting.
The Inland Empire Athletic Conference retained two teams in the top 10. Norco dropped three spots following its loss last week to Fullerton, while San Bernardino Valley filled the No. 10 spot after beating No. 11 Mt. San Antonio last Tuesday, before falling to Long Beach City.
Things should begin to heat up as most schools prepare to open conference play in the coming days.
