WOMEN
Meghan McIntyre, Orange Coast College, basketball, sophomore, guard
McIntyre saved her best for last in helping the Pirates win the 3C2A state women's basketball championship. She poured in a season-high 32 points in a title game victory over Butte as she was named tourney MVP. In the semifinals, she scored 25 points in an overtime win over Santa Rosa as she made a free throw to send it to the extra period, where she tallied four more points. In four March postseason wins, she averaged 23.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.3 steals. She was earlier named Orange Empire Conference Co-Player of the Year and helped Orange Coast cap an amazing 32-1 season.
MEN
Brian DuRoff, Chabot College, baseball, sophomore, outfielder
DuRoff had a remarkable month of March as the slugger belted seven home runs and drove in 32 RBI in just 14 games, batting .385 with 20 runs scored. He ripped two home runs and knocked in five in a win over De Anza on Mar. 11, then bombed three roundtrippers and totaled eight RBI in a rout over Canada on Mar. 25. The power hitter went on to lead the state in both home runs (21) and RBI (78) as he helped the Gladiators win the Coast Conference North Division crown. DuRoff is the first Chabot AOTM selection in eight years.
