Former Taft Standout, Miguel Ibarra, Called To US National Team

The biggest surprise on Coach Jurgen Klinsmann's roster for games against Ecuador and Honduras was 24-year-old Miguel Ibarra of the NASL's Minnesota United. Here's a two-minute highlight reel in which the Californian displays his blazing dribbling skills.
Ibarra, the first player ever called up by the U.S. national team from the new NASL, starred at Taft College, a California junior college, and UC Irvine, whose then-coach George Kuntz said, "There are very few guys who can run at the level of speed with and without the ball that he has over a long period of time."
