Competing in their third tournament of the season, the Fresno City wrestling team captured their third championship on Saturday.

SANTA ANA - Competing in their third tournament of the season, the Fresno City wrestling team captured their third championship on Saturday. The Rams won the Santa Ana Tournament by picking up five individual weight championships and also had three others reach the finals. They finished with 178.5 team points with their top unit, while they collectively had 243 team points. Second place Cerritos College won two individual championships and finished with 108 points with their first team and compiled a team total of 180 points.
Fresno City wrestlers also received both individual awards, as 157-pound Ruben Garcia earned the TMI Lower Weight MVP honors, while 174-pound Abner Romero garnered the TMI Upper Weight MVP award. Garcia pinned three opponents and recorded a technical fall over another, with Romero pinning all four of his opponents.
