Perfect game and near-perfect week at plate highlight Week #7 Players of the week; Fullerton, San Mateo earn Week 6 honors
GLENDORA - A perfect game and a near perfect week at the plate highlight the Week #7 Pitchers and Players of the Week for the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association. Antelope Valley College’s freshman Briana Garrett was perfect twice in the span of three days, with one coming during week #7, while freshman San Joaquin Delta College freshman second baseman Mikaela Ferreira stellar week at the dish garnered the other honor.

After hurling a perfect game against Bakersfield College in the second game of a double-header with Bakersfield College, Garrett followed that performance up with another perfecto on March 18th against Barstow College when she tossed seven shut-out innings, and struck out 17 batters. While she wasn’t perfect the rest of the week, she was more than good enough to help propel the Marauders to two more victories with wins over LA Valley College (6IP, 4H, 2ER, 10 Ks) and Chaffey College (7IP, 4H, 1ER, 13Ks). Garrett came to Antelope Valley out Lancaster, where she prepped at Quartz Hill High School.
Mikaela Ferreira | San Joaquin Delta College | Freshman | Second Base
The top offensive player for the #2 team in Northern California and #4 in the State, Mikaela Ferreira helped the Mustangs to four wins. Ferreira went a combined 7-for-14 with six runs, and eight RBIs. Ferreira belted a trio of home runs, hitting .500, with a .588 on-base percentage, and a 1.214 slugging percentage. In a 10-2 win over American River College, Ferreira was 2-for-4 with three runs, two home runs, and six RBIs. Ferreira prepped at Ripon High School in Ripon.

Fullerton’s Lopez and Ubois-Weitenhagen of San Mateo are Pitcher and Player of the Week
GLENDORA - Week #6 California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association Pitcher of the Week honors has been given to Fullerton College freshman pitcher Jessica Lopez. 3CFCA Player of the Week honors meanwhile went to Amanda Ubois-Weitenhagen, a freshman out of College of San Mateo.

On the week, Lopez made four appearances, making three starts and a relief appearance. In that span, Lopez went 3-0 posting a 0.61 ERA. Lopez struck out 39 batters on the week, while walking five and giving up just seven hits. At the end of the week Lopez was at her strongest, going 2-0, giving up just a hit in each of her last two games, and striking out 22 of her 39 in those final 14 innings. Lopez came to Fullerton from Santa Fe High School and hails from Santa Fe Springs, CA.
Amanda Ubois-Weitenhagen | College of San Mateo | Freshman | Outfield/Catcher
Ubois-Weitenhagen had a monster week at the plate going 8-for-10 (.800), with eight runs scored, 13 RBIs, three home runs, and two grand slams. The most impressive part of her week may have been the grand slams, as both came in back-to-back games. In the March 7th contest with Foothill College, Ubois-Weitenhagen hit a tape measure shot in the top of the fifth with the bases loaded that gave the Bulldogs an 8-0 edge. Two days later, she got the Bulldogs off on the right foot by lead the game off with a grand slam that put CSM up 4-0 early. Ubois-Weitenhagen came to San Mateo from Redwood High School.
