College of San Mateo’s Melina Rodriguez is the player of the year and Lauren Berriatua the pitcher of the year on the 2015 All-Coast Conference softball team. CSM coach Nicole Borg was voted coach of the year by conference coaches. State No. 1 ranked CSM finished regular season play with a perfect 35-0 record and will host American River College (20-17) in a first round best two of three CCCAA state playoff series on Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (12 noon), May 2-3.

College of San Mateo's Melina Rodriguez is the player of the year and Lauren Berriatua the pitcher of the year on the 2015 All-Coast Conference softball team. CSM coach Nicole Borg was voted coach of the year by conference coaches.
Additional CSM first team all-conference selections (with season batting average and high school attended): Leilani Akai, .523 (Moreau Catholic); Kaitlin Chang, .389 (Capuchino); Harlee Donovan, .541 (Half Moon Bay); Christy Peterson, .422 (Carlmont); Kayleen Smith, .456 (James Logan); and pitcher Lacie Crawford 12-0, 1.41 ERA (Granada).
Second team selections: Riley Wells, .348 (Hillsdale); Brittany Wilkerson, .263 (American); Janelle Rubio, .394 (James Logan); Kacy Edwards, .333 (Burlingame).
Rodriguez (James Logan) had the state's best batting average, .618. Berriatua (Notre Dame, Belmont) had the state's best pitching record, 23-0, and led the state in earned run average, 0.28. Her batting average is .567 – officially ranking No. 3 in the state.

--PLAYOFFS MAY 2-3 AT CSM: State No. 1 ranked CSM finished regular season play with a perfect 35-0 record and will host American River College (20-17) in a first round best two of three CCCAA state playoff series on Saturday (2 p.m.) and Sunday (12 noon), May 2-3. The Bulldogs defeated American River, 9-1, in a 5-inning mercy-rule game on Feb. 14.
