MARAUDERS SUFFER THIRD CONSECUTIVE LOSS TO IMPERIAL VALLEY

LANCASTER - The Marauder baseball team suffered its third consecutive loss in a tough 3-2 extra inning game at the hands of Imperial Valley College, in the first game of the double header.
AVC's bats were alive as they pounded out 15 hits and led 2-0 after the first two innings which included an RBI single from Timothy Dodd and an RBI sacrifice fly by Tyler Pittmon. The Marauders were unable to score a run however in the final eight frames.
AVC pitcher Shawn Hunt had an impressive outing as he pitched six strong innings, allowing only two earned runs and scattering seven hits, while striking out nine. Brian Yount relieved Hunt and gave up an unearned run in the top of the 10th inning and suffered the loss. Yount struck out three Imperial Valley batters in four inning pitched.
Imperial Valley's Gilbert Cano pitched all 10 innings for his team. He gave up 15 hits but only allowed two earned runs to get the win.
Michael Behen and Travis Tarnoff each had three hits for the Marauders. Dodd and John Serrato added two hits apiece for AVC.
