ELAC men win the North Division title
East Los Angeles wins the SCC North Division conference
title at 9-5. It is ELAC's first-ever South Coast
title in men's basketball.
Los Angeles Harbor, Long Beach City and Cerritos
all share the SCC South Division conference crown
at 10-3 records. Cerritos wins for the 2nd
straight season (22nd in SCC history) Harbor wins
its first since 2011 (2nd ever) Long Beach wins
its first since 2007 (8th in SCC)
It is the first time there was a 3-way tie for a division
title since 2007 when Compton, LA City and LA
Trade Tech all shared that North title. It is the
first South 3-way tie since the conference went
to division format in 1996
It is only the third time in SCC history
that a 3-way tie occurred (also 1982, Mt. San Antonio, Fullerton,
Santa Ana).
This 2013-14 season has to go down as one of the most
competitive seasons in SCC men's basketball
history as six different teams nearly took a share
of the 2 conference crowns, all of the races
coming down to the final game
on Friday.
