WOMEN'S SOCCER: HORNETS OVER OWLS

Fullerton broke out in a big way on the road Friday beating Citrus College 3-1 in a non-conference match-up.

The FC win breaks a seven-game losing streak giving the Hornets an overall record of 2-7. The Citrus loss is their second straight landing them at 5-5 overall.

Fullerton drew first blood scoring the first goal in the 23rd minute on a header by Diana Ordaz. Marlena Carrillo chipped in with the assist.

FC went up 2-0 in the 37th minute when Pamela Zavaleta kicked in a shot with the assist by Tatsiana Loscutoff.

The Owls scored their only goal at the 62-minute mark on a shot by Devyn Bagwell.

The Hornets sealed the game in the 84th minute on Marlena Carrillo's shot successfully hitting the back of the net with the assist coming from Emily Valdez.

FC goalie Marla Debarros was solid in her first start holding the Owls to a goal and had 5 saves on the day.

Up Next: The Hornets (2-7, 0-5) will look to build on their success when they host Golden West College on Tuesday, October 4th. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
