Fullerton, the #7 ranked team in the state, won in four sets at Riverside City College Wednesday night (25-16, 26-24, 22-25, 25-18).
FC made quick work of the Tigers in the first set, but in the second RCC jumped to an 8-1 lead. Fullerton fought back to a 23-23 and 24-24 tie, before kills by Alyssa Jensen and Kali La Brie broke the set open for the 26-24 win.
The Hornets were overrun in the third as they committed 5 attack errors down the stretch.
FC took back control and wrapped up the match in the fourth set by ripping off ten straight points after being down 2-0.
Alex Winfield guided the Hornets with match-high 13 kills and 33 set assists. Jensen was next with 12 kills, and Briana Cervantes lifted Fullerton with a match-high 16 digs.
Up Next: Fullerton (11-2, 4-2) will host #2 in the state Irvine Valley College in a conference battle this Friday, October 24th. Game time is at 6:00 pm.
