TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College women's soccer team drew with Moorpark 1-1 at home on Friday afternoon.
The Warriors (2-4-2) took the lead early in the second half but could not hold on as the Raiders (5-1-2) grabbed the equalizer nearly 10 minutes after the Warriors had scored.
Monica Bernardino scored her team leading 7th goal of the season in the 57th minute. Bernardino latched onto a long ball played by Mariana Garcia that the Moorpark centerback misplayed and found herself 1-v-1 with the keeper and was able to easily slot it past her.
Dejah Wallot grabbed the equalizer for the Raiders in the 65th minute after shooting a laser from near the right side of the 18 yard box.
The Warriors outshot the Raiders (12-11) and had 5 shots on goal compared to Moorpark's 3 shots on goal. Kelly Gallagher started in net and made two saves.
The Warriors will head to Compton College for their game on Tuesday, October 1st. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
