"They have never played together before and were the doubles team and came out with a victory which was the highlight of the day," Mt. SAC first-year Tennis coach Tim Pawley said.
Wu made a leap from the high school J.V. and Varsity teams to a college-level program and has stepped up in his first contest, while Narvaez was a No. 2 in high school.
Narvaez, who lost his singles match, 3-6, 4-6, but as Pawley said, "...he had perhaps the best match of the day."
"Brandon did a great job and was playing a better opponent. He was playing with compassion and kept the ball in play and made his opponent earn his match."
Mt. SAC will travel to play Glendale College on Tuesday and Saddleback on Thursday in non-conference matches.
