The Beavers swept Ohlone on Thursday in both games of their double-header. The first game, The Beavers won 9-1 with a great pitching performance from Taylor McKay who had 11 strikeouts and only 2 hits in the 9-1 victory. After 3 scoreless innnings from both teams, Ohlone got thier lone run at the top of the 4th. In the bottom of the 4th, ARC came out and scored 7 runs which put the game away for the Beavers! Offensively, Alexis Watson led with 2 runs,and Katie Howard added 2 hits. The Beavers were walked 11 times as well which greatly helped with the scoring opportunities.
The 2nd game was much of the same as the Beavers won 8-0. Jenna Kendrick had 4 strikeouts and no hits in 4 innings and Ashley Cortez came in and pitched a scorless 5th inning to seal the game. Offensively, ARC had Katie Howard and Brittany Fryer both score 2 runs, and Kellie Capps added 3 hits.
After going 3-1 on the week, the Beavers (7-3) look to continue their winning ways against Solano (0-8) on Tuesday 2/22.
