In the span of just five games in the 2022-23 season, the GCC Men's Basketball Team has experienced the lows of losing last minute and one-sided games and success most recently in winning the championship of the Mt. SAC Gene Victor Memorial Classic to improve to 3-2 with a 62-50 win over Victor Valley Nov. 10 and a 73-68 win over host Mt. San Antonio College Nov. 12.

"We played really well on the defensive end against Mt. SAC,'' said GCC Head Coach Vigen Jilizian. "We moved the ball much better in Saturday's game and made shots.''

Tournament MVP Gabino Ramirez had 17 points in each game and Powell Mousaian earned all-tournament honors with 10 points and 10 boards against Victor Valley and five points and six rebounds against Mt. SAC. Julian Dixon added 11 points off the bench against Victor Valley and Immanuel Lewis was the leading scorer against Mt. SAC with 21 points and Braxton Williams had eight rebounds off the bench.

Glendale plays in the Pasadena City College Tournament starting Thursday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m., against host PCC at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 and against Mt. SAC on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m.
