Sophomore forward Nyaduop Lam scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds in the Knights' final home game of the season, which ended in a 48-41 victory over Grossmont.
It was Lam's 14th double-double of the season. She is currently ninth in the state in rebounds per game with 12.3. Lam is also ninth in the state in blocks with 55.
Two other sophomores who played their last home game with the Knights also scored in double figures. Darrian Castillo had 11 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Shamonique Malone-Boyd narrowly missed her ninth double-double of the season with 12 points and nine rebounds.
After a slow start, the Knights managed to take a 21-14 halftime lead and then started the second half with a 9-2 run to take a 30-19 lead, their largest of the game.
Grossmont, however, rallied back late in the game with a 9-1 run to even the game at 39-39 with 3:21 remaining.
Castillo hit her third three-pointer of the game on the following possession that gave the Knights the lead for good. Castillo hit three free throws down the stretch and Lam added a layup and a free throw in the final minute to cap off a 9-2 run to end the game.
The victory improved the Knights' record to 12-13 overall and 8-5 in the PCAC, good for third place. Should the Knights win their final game on Friday at MiraCosta, they would equal last season's 13-13 overall record and finish with their best conference record since the program was reinstated in 2006.
