MENIFEE - The Marauder softball team is beginning to round into form following two victories on Saturday at the Mt. San Jacinto President's Day Tournament at Wheatfield Park.
The Marauders defeated Allan Hancock, 9-5, and earned an easy 9-1 victory over San Diego City.
In the first game Taylor Roberts picked up the victory as she pitched a complete game scattering only seven hits, while striking out 10 Bulldogs. She also helped herself out at the plate by finishing 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBI.
Kaitynn Dardar had her best game of the season with a homerun with two RBI and two runs scored. She finished the game 3-for-3.
In the second game, Isabelle Gomez pitched well for AVC after the game was called after five innings. Valerie Dorantes was 2-for-4 with two extra-base hits, including a home run and a triple. She finished with three RBI and two runs scored. Dorantes was 4-for-7 in both games combined.
"The girls hit the ball well today," AVC head coach Cindy Vargas said. "It was great picking up two wins on the road."
Ashley Fiorelli finished 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored in the victory over San Diego City. During AVC's four-game winning streak, it has outscored its opponents 23-8 over that span.
