KNIGHTS' COMEBACK FALLS SHORT VS. PALOMAR

The Knights fell behind by 17 points in the final minute of the first half after a 3-pointer by Palomar's Corey Phillips, but Verne Brooks converted a three-pont play after getting fouled to bring the Knights within 14 points at 39-25.
SDCC scored the first seven points of the second half and, all of a sudden, the Knights found themselves back in the game down only, 39-32, with 17:07 remaining. Palomar, however, went on an 11-4 run in the next three minutes that pushed their lead back up to 14.
Consecutive 3-pointers by Iglehart and Josh White jump started one final push by the Knights. A jumper by Jovan Griffin capped off a 20-8 run that cut Palomar's lead to 58-56 with 6:11 left. Unfortunately for the Knights, they couldn't get any closer than two points the rest of the way as Palomar pulled away in the final minutes with a 15-2 run to win, 75-60.
Iglehart was the only Knight to score in double figures. Bren Haley and Justice Howard each scored eight points.
The loss dropped the Knights' overall record to 12-10 and PCAC record to 2-2. They host Mesa on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
