For the first time since 2018, the Ohlone College softball team is headed back to the postseason.

On Sunday, Ohlone received the No. 10 seed for the upcoming 2024 Northern California Regional Playoffs. The Renegades will travel to No. 7 College of the Sequoias in Visalia for a best-of-three-game series that is scheduled to begin on Friday (May 3) at 2:00 p.m. Game 2 is set for Saturday (May 4) at 12 p.m. with a third game, if necessary, to start at 2 p.m.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason event are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

Led by head coach Julie Marshall, the Renegades enter the postseason with a 19-18 overall record. Ohlone went 6-8 in the highly-competitive Coast Conference to finish in sixth place. Six of the conference's eight teams were selected to the Northern California Playoffs.

The Renegades return to the postseason for the first time since 2018 when they advanced to the state championships.

No. 7 Sequoias earned a share of the Central Valley Conference championship, finishing tied with Fresno City College at 15-3. The Giants enter the playoffs with a 30-8 overall record at went 16-2 at home this season.

Ohlone and Sequoias have already met twice this season. On Feb. 24, the Renegades dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader at COS. Ohlone fell in a tight Game 1 by a final score of 2-0 and closed the day with a 6-3 loss.

The winner of the opening series will advance to the Super Regionals on May 10-12. The 3C2A State Championships are scheduled for May 16-19 at West Valley College in Saratoga.
