The Hawks and Hornets played out to a 2-2 tie in an entertaining contest. Fullerton scored early with a drive from distance, and held on to the lead through half-time.
SCC responded after the break and went ahead through Tara Hansel. Ashley Roskelly played in Brianna Diaz whose left-footed strike came back off the post for Hansel to turn it in to the empty net. The Hawks had dominated for much of the game with Chloe Helenihi twice going close by the end, on her return from injury. SCC finally made the pressure count around 70 minutes, when Diaz had a corner turned in to the goal by a Hornet defender.
Fullerton responded, and some poor defending from a corner allowed the Hornets to grab the equalizer. It was another lesson for SCC who dominated with 20 shots against 6 in the contest but didn't quite do enough to claim all three points.
Up next are Orange Coast College. Kick-off is at 3pm on Friday, October, 18th. Thanks go out to all those travelling to the contest today.
