Beach Volleyball: Roadrunners win third straight, beat Fullerton 4-1

The Rio Hondo College women's beach volleyball team rolled to its third consecutive win, this time defeating Fullerton College on the road by a final score of 4-1 on Wednesday. The victory improved the Roadrunners to 4-2 overall.

Rio Hondo nearly swept the match but was edged at No. 1. The RHC duo of Tanya Metchkoff and Haley Brownwood lost the opening set 21-13 before winning a marathon 22-20 second set. But in the third, Fullerton's Charity Dennis and Rachel Rutherford pulled out the victory with 15-7 win.

 Rio Hondo went on to win the remaining four matches over Fullerton (0-5 overall), including an impressive 21-6, 21-14 victory at No. 4 by Sara Harding and Natalie Magallon.

The Roadrunners return to non-conference action on Friday (Mar. 10) when they travel to Ventura to take on Ventura College and Santa Rosa Junior College, starting at 10 a.m.
