PANTHERS GET WIN AT HOME AGAINST COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS
The Panthers played their first home game of the 2020 season this afternoon defeating the College of the Canyons 6-5. Chaffey scored consistently putting a run up in each of the 1st-4th and two in the 6th, leading the Cougars from start to finish.
The Panthers played a defensive heavy game holding Canyons scoreless through four innings. Canyons finally managed to get on the board with two in the sixth followed by three in the 7th.
Freshman Mia Zamora led the Panthers with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs and a beautiful left field foul catch.
"I'm proud of the girls today," said Head Coach Jerry Tivey who claimed his first win as a Panther with today's victory. "That's a playoff level team and we're sending a message. We're only going to get better."
The Panthers are on the road Thursday taking on another regional powerhouse Riverside City College at 6pm and return home Friday to host East Los Angeles at 2pm.
