PANTHER FOOTBALL FINISHES 2022 AT HOME V RIVERSIDE
The Panthers finished off the 2022 season today, taking on Riverside City College and falling to the #1 Tigers 49-14.
Riverside took an early lead just seconds after the initial kickoff and held the game from that point on. Chaffey's first touchdown came in the 1st quarter off a 3-yard pass from Nicholas Poulos to Josiah Barron putting the Panthers on the board and into play. RCC answered back almost immediately closing out the 1st quarter up 21-7.
The 2nd period also went RCC's way with back-to-back touchdowns. In the final offensive drive of the half, Chaffey took control and with zero remaining Emmanuel Mogbolu had a diving catch at the front corner of the endzone from Poulos to narrow the gap to 35-14.
After the break, the Panthers could not catch a break, giving up two more scoring drives to the Tigers and closing out the season with a 49-14 loss.
Kicker Jacob Meneses had a perfect game going 2:2 on PATs, two kickoffs, and one punt.
The Panthers finish the season 2-8 overall, 0-5 in the National Central Conference (6th place).
