The West Valley baseball team remained 0-for-2020 at Valhalla with an 11-5 Highway 17 rivalry game loss to Cabrillo Tuesday.
The Vikings (2-7) put three runs on the board in the third as Curran Ozawa-Burns scored on a wild pitch, Connor Leaverton knocked in Jared Reupert, and Steven Grizzle came home on a Kyle Riveron double to cut the Seahawk lead to 5-4.
Cole Murchison came home on another wild pitch to make it 7-5 in the fifth, but a solo and a three-run homer in the top of the eighth gave Cabrillo (7-1) an 11-5 advantage.
Riveron finished 2-4 with the double and RBI, and Henry Wright was 1-4 with an RBI single. Nicholas Garcia struck out three Seahawks and allowed only a hit in 2.1 innings of relief.
West Valley looks to break its homefield drought this weekend with a Friday game against Diablo Valley (2-5) and a Saturday contest with Contra Costa (3-5). Game times are 2pm Friday and 1pm Saturday.
