Lady Cougs pick up their second W with win over Yuba

The Cougs led 29-17 at halftime behind the hot scoring of freshman Cashmere Webb. Lassen carried the momentum of the first half into the second half, holding Yuba to only 15 more points for the remainder of the game.

"The team played a well-rounded game despite a few mistakes here and there but those are things that will get better as the season goes on," said Head Coach Derrick Jackson.

The Lady Cougars were led in scoring by freshman guard Cashmere Webb, who had 21 points and six assists and freshman forward Jasmine Churchill dominated the boards, pulling down 15 rebounds. Sophomore center Saniya Walker had another stellar performance with 12 rebounds and seven blocks for the game and Sophomore G-F Cierra Parson scored in double figures with 10 points.

The Lady Cougars record improved to 1-2 and will travel to the Bay Area next week with games against Merritt College on Tuesday and Los Medanos on Wednesday.
