WALNUT - The Fullerton College men's cross country team ran the traditional course at the Mt. SAC Invitational on Friday.

The men's team scored 125 points and finished in fourth place (out of 11 teams) missing third by just two points. Host Mt. SAC led 10 CCCAA teams in the 11-team field, beating second-place El Camino (81) for top honors.

Ian Rusk shaved off 1:14 from last year's time and placed 8th overall with a 21:43 effort. Mauro Rosales (11th place) had an equally impressive improvement from last year with a 1:09 second drop with his time of 21:52. Third man, Sean Wing improved 1:44 from last season completing the course in 23:58. Will Gerard was four spots behind Sean and ran 24:15.  He gave himself a 31 second improvement. David Chairunas ran for his first time on the course and came in as our fifth man.

There were 125 total runners in this race and the men continue to make strides.

The Hornets competed as well, but this was a training race day for the ladies, as the whole team did not compete.

Diana Vazquez completed the race in 29th place out of 61 runners with a time of 22:26. Diana Muneton came in 29 seconds behind her teammate with a 22:55 effort. Jordan Montgomery was 40 seconds behind Muneton and crossed the line only seven places back at 23:35.
