Deajah Stevens Signs With Oregon
The COS Athletic Department and the COS Track and Field program is pleased to announce that current COS sophomore Deajah Stevens has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Oregon of the PAC 12 conference. Stevens competed last season at COS and will have three seasons of eligiblity remaining at Oregon. She will graduate from COS in only three semesters after taking 18 units per semester plus summer school.
Stevens was the state individual champion last spring in the women's 200m and the 400m. Stevens was also the state runner-up in the long jump despite competing in that event in only the last three weeks of last season.
"Deajah is a great example of what we want our track and field program to model here at COS" said COS head track and field coach Curtis Allen, "she worked hard in the classroom and on the track and was able to move on to the next level in only three semesters after earning her AA." Stevens field several offers from major universities across the country before deciding on Oregon. "Deajah had multiple scholarships offers. I congratulate the University of Oregon on successfully recruiting her. They have a great staff and a great program" said Allen.
Oregon is the defending NCAA Champion in both men's and women's outdoor track and field.
