BC Women Capture WSC Title

The Bakersfield College women's swim team captured the Western State Conference title, with the men's team finishing third in the conference championships at L.A. Valley College.
The Renegades' Matthew Moon was named the WSC coach of the year.
BC records were broken in the following events:.
Alexis Zimmerman finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.00. Shelby Bayne was second in both the 100 IM in 1:01.60 and 200 Freestyle in, 1:57.85.
The women's 400 free relay featuring Clarissa Gardella, Elizabeth Hargis, Ashley Foster and Bayne finished first in 3:38.99. The 200-medley relay of Hargis, ZImmerman, Nancy Ramierez and Bayne finished second with a 1:52.62.
Andrew Hargis set a meet record in the 500 free, winning the race by more than 12 seconds with a 4:34.61.
Hargis also broke school marks in the 100 free, 200 free and 400 IM.
The men's 400 free relay of Hargis, Spencer Kerwin, Casey Moehnke and Chance Marchini finished second in 3:08.95. The 200 free relay with Andrew Hargis, Michael Fink, Chance Marchini and Moehnke finished third in 1:25.23. The men's 400-medley relay of Kerwin, Hargis, Marchini and Moehnke placed third with a 3:31.11.
