Lake Tahoe holds down top spot for second straight week in women's soccer poll; Fresno City follows
RIVERSIDE - Lake Tahoe continues to ride a Cinderella story hot streak deep into the 2019 campaign. After earning a state championship bid just one year ago, they continue to prove that it was not a fluke as seen in their second-consecutive top ranking in this week’s California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) poll.
After tying with No. 2 Fresno City three games ago, Lake Tahoe turned on the burners and roasted Las Positas and Butte with a 10-1 scoring differential. Fresno City holds down the second spot for the second-straight week. They will begin conference play in mid-October.
No. 3 Cypress holds steady after not playing this past week, while No. 4 Folsom Lake and No. 5 Santiago Canyon round out the top five. No. 6 Sierra rises two spots, while No. 10 Pasadena City reaches the top 10 after jumping four spots from the previous week.
No. 18 Mt. San Antonio jumps back into the rankings after falling out last week, while No. 19 Ventura and No. 20 American River hold down the final two spots.
