Desert Women Continue Hot Streak, Win Morro Bay Invite
College of the Desert women's golf has yet to lose a match or tournament this season, picking up another win in the Morro Bay Invitational at Morro Bay Golf Course. This served as a State championship preview as the championship tournament will be held at Morro Bay on November 16-17. As a team, Desert posted a 642 in this two-day, 36 hole tourament. Placing second was Sierra College with a 655 and rounding out the top three was College of the Canyons (662). This large and talented field consisted of 17 teams throughout the State.
On the individuals side, there was a tie for the title between Sierra College's April Chang (74-73) and Butte's Ana Bonilla (74-73) who each posted a 147. Coming in third, just one stroke back, was Desert's Fumika Matsumoto.
