SACRAMENTO - To say Palomar College has had a dominant season would be an understatement. The Comets have eclipsed the century barrier four times in the last six games they've played, have held their last two opponents to less than 30 points, and haven't let a team get closer than 32 points since mid-December.

It's all factored into Palomar pushing their record to a perfect 20-0 while also holding the distinction of being the state's lone remaining undefeated team and keeping a stronghold on the top spot in this week's California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) Women's Basketball Poll. The Comets picked up all 12 first-place votes among the voting panel for 220 points.

But there's a new No. 2 team right behind them with Santa Rosa (19-2) jumping from No. 4 to assume the No. 2 spot previously held by Orange Coast College (20-1), which saw its unblemished record fall in a 66-61 matchup at Orange Empire Conference foe Santa Ana last Friday. The Pirates will look to get back on track and continue their impressive season when they face another ranked OEC opponent, No. 19 Riverside City (16-5) on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, OCC didn't fall far in the poll and is tied for No. 3 with College of the Sequoias (19-2), which downed previous No. 3 and current No. 6 Fresno City (19-3), 76-72, in a big road win on Saturday. San Joaquin Delta (15-4) is No. 5 in the poll, and Butte (18-3) is No. 7. The next four teams - Moorpark (17-5), City College of San Francisco (17-4), Mt. San Jacinto (19-2) and Mt. San Antonio (15-7) - remained in their No. 8 through No. 11 spots, respectively while Cypress (16-5), Ventura (15-5) and Laney (15-5) own the next three. Long Beach City (14-6) and Folsom Lake (16-5) are tied for 15th.

Irvine Valley (16-6) is No. 17, No. 18 is San Jose City (17-4), No. 19 is Riverside city (16-5) and Glendale (15-5) comes in at No. 20.
