Guthro named 3CFCA Pitcher of the Week, Navarro earns Player of the Week
GLENDORA, Calif. - The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it’s Week #5 State Player and Pitcher of the Week. Southwestern College left fielder Angelina Guthro and Fresno City College sophomore pitcher Anisah Navarro earned the honors.
Pitcher of the Week - Anisah Navarro - Fresno City College
Sophomore pitcher Anisah Navarro had a good week in the circle, and helped her cause at the plate. Navarro was 2-0 on the week, winning both of her appearances. Navarro struck out eight on the week, and didn’t give up any runs. In the batter’s box, Navarro went 4-for-11, scored a pair of runs, and drove in an RBI. Navarro hails from Selma, CA where she attended Selma High School.
Player of the Week - Angelina Guthro - Southwestern College
Sophomore left fielder Angelina Guthro was 5-for-10 on the week for the Jaguars. Guthro scored a pair of runs, and drove in a pair on the week, hitting a home run in the first of two games against current SoCal #7 Antelope Valley College. Guthro started off the week by going 2-for-4 against current SoCal #10 Imperial Valley College in what ended up an extra innings loss in Pacific Coast Conference play. Guthro prepped at Valhalla High School in her hometown of El Cajon, CA.
