Men's and Women's Water Polo Regional Champions Crowned
The CCCAA men's and women's regional championships wrapped up Saturday evening. In the North, host Diablo Valley College men and women both won the titles in front of their home crowds. The men defeated West Valley 18-11 while the women beat San Joaquin Delta 11-7. This is both the Viking's men and women's second regional title in as many years. The West Valley men and Delta women will advance to the State championships along with DVC.
In Southern California the Golden West men faced a familiar foe in Long Beach City, with GWC earning the regional title by a score of 10-7. This is the third year in a row these two teams have met in the regional championship, with Golden West winning in 2014 and LBCC in 2013. Both teams will move onto State. For the women, Riverside City earns the title beating San Diego Mesa, 9-5. Riverside narrowly advanced past Golden West in the semifinal round, winning 11-10 in sudden death OT.
The CCCAA Water Polo State Championships will be held on Novmeber 20-21 at Pasadena City College. Complete state brackets with game times and matchups can be found below.
