Five COC Golfers Turn In Under Par Scores, Break School Record

LA VERNE, Calif. – The College of the Canyons men's golf team carded a school record low 345 on Monday afternoon at the par-71 Marshall Canyon Golf Course to win its seventh conference tournament. With the victory, Canyons improves to 47-2 and creates some distance between second-place Santa Barbara (38-11) and the Cougars.
The conference-leading Cougars shattered the school record by five strokes that was set by the 2013 squad.
COC won the event by 18 strokes over second-place Ventura College and third-place Citrus College by 24 strokes. Santa Barbara City College, which trails Canyons in the standings, came in fifth place with a 375.
All of COC's five scorers finished the tournament under par for the first time this season. Edouard Fiszel and Aaron Grimes carded season low 67s and 68s, respectively. Sidney Wolf, Mike Stewart and Jonas Guriby Dahl turned in 70s, while Clayton Chatterley notched a 72.
The Cougars will play at the Oakmont Country Club on Monday, April 14 for the team's eighth conference tournament.
