Matchups announced for state championship playoffs and bowl games
SACRAMENTO - The "Road to Sacramento" and the California Community College Athletic Association Football Championship on Dec. 8 will begin next weekend with four regional playoff games with Butte College and College of the Canyons being named the top seeds for the NorCal and SoCal regions, respectively, it was announced on Sunday evening.
Additionally, matchups for 10 bowl games throughout the state have also been selected with nine of those games scheduled for next weekend as well.
Unbeaten College of the Canyons will host fourth-seeded Ventura while second-seeded and undefeated Riverside City will host third-seeded El Camino in the two SoCal regional games while Butte hosts fourth-seeded Fresno City at Shasta College, and second-seeded Laney entertains third-seeded College of San Mateo in the NorCal playoffs. All games will be played on Saturday.
Regional championship games will be played on Nov. 24 with the winners advancing to the CCCAA Championship at Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College on Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. The state championship will be nationally televised by Eleven Sports.
