Citrus College scored two early goals to grab its first win of the year against Southwestern College.
With the win, the Owls improve to 1-2-0, while the Jaguars drop to 0-2-1 on the year.
Jose Andres Ortega found the back of the net in the 19th minute to give Citrus an early lead, knocking in a pass from Lance Becker.
Fifteen minutes later, the Owls struck again. Andrew Garibian found Luis Chavez Esparza, who tucked in the insurance goal.
Southwestern pushed tempo in the second half, firing off 11 shots, but the Citrus defense held strong. Edgar Villafana finished with six saves to pick up the clean sheet.
The Owls are back in action Friday, taking on Santa Barbara on the road with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
