(Walnut, CA) "Mountie Beach" was open for business, as the Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball team made its 2020 home debut before a crowd of supporters in a South Coast Conference match Friday (March 6).
Mt. SAC (2-5, 1-1) defeated SCC newcomer, College of the Desert, 3-2 and fell to El Camino, 5-0.
"(Friday) was our first conference game of the season, as well as our first home game of the season," Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball Interim coach Danielle Diaz said. "We had a great turnout and are so appreciative to the Mountie family who showed up to support us.
"El Camino is once again a top contender in our conference and showed that (Friday) with a strong performance, sweeping us in five sets."

"We played College of the Desert right afterwards, who is a new school to be added into our conference this season," Diaz said. "Our 4's (Thomas/White) and 5's pair (Al-Juraishi/Caravantes) beat Desert early on and it was up to Janderi Ceja and her partner Ashly Velasquez to solidify the win. Ceja and Velasquez fought hard and won in a close match against Desert's 3's pair."
