Oroville, Calif. - The No. 9 Butte softball team swept Redwoods, 11-3 (5) and 15-3 (5) to remain perfect in GVC play on Saturday afternoon.
In game one, freshman Ella Jolley went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, while sophomores Hayley Sites and Grace Stearns and freshman Faith Epperson all earned a double. Epperson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Freshman Avery Jolley (7-3) captured the complete-game win, scattering six hits in the circle.
Sophomore Alexis Detwiler and freshman Kylee Richhart both posted 4-for-4 outings with Stearns adding a 3-for-3 performance in game two. Richhart counted a double and a homer, while Detwiler went yard and Stearns added a double. Richhart counted six RBI, while Detwiler added five.
Sophomore Maggie Smith (10-2) fanned three in her complete-game win, allowing only six hits.
Butte (20-5, 8-0) remains home, hosting Shasta next on Saturday, Apr. 1 for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
